This Harpy Eagle Mask was handwoven by a Wounaan /Embera Artisan, (Primilda’s mother is from the Wounaan tribe and her father from the Embera tribe). The Harpy Eagle is a spectacular bird, and is the national bird of Panama. The Harpy is one of the most powerful birds of prey in the world, and has huge talons, which can be as large as a bears claws. Its legs can be as thick as a man’s wrist, and it can reach a wing span of 6.5 feet.

To put this into perspective the Harpy Eagles nest is approximately 4 feet thick and 5 feet across!

Material: Palm fiber and all natural dyes.
